Hunger is a widespread issue in Sub-Saharan Africa, with millions of people lacking access to nutritious food. Hunger can have serious health consequences, particularly for children, who may suffer from malnutrition and developmental issues. American & Sub-Saharan CDC's Food Banks Initiative seeks to address this issue head-on. We work with local partners to establish food banks in communities in need, providing them with a reliable source of nutritious food. In addition to providing food, we also work to address the root causes of hunger, such as poverty and lack of access to education and job training. By combatting hunger, we can help to improve the health and well-being of individuals and families across the region.
